TREASURE Just Won Grand Song at KGMA 2026. The 11-Day, 100-Million-View Year That Made It Happen

TREASURE won Grand Song at the 2026 Korea Grand Music Awards (KGMA) on November 7, 2026, at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul. It’s the Day 1 grand prize KGMA gives for the year’s most highly rated music. They also took Best Artist, Best Hip Hop and Trend of the Year (Group), for four trophies in one night (Ilgan Sports; Edaily, Nov. 7, 2026). The other Day 1 grand prizes went to DAY6’s Young K (Grand Artist) and to RESCENE and AND2BLE (Grand Honors’ Choice). “First, thank you to everyone who gave us such a meaningful award,” the members said. “We came back on November 2 with a song called ‘SHOCK,’ so please give it a lot of love” (Ilgan Sports, Nov. 7, 2026).

I’ll be honest: as a TEUME at heart, I grinned at that speech. They’re holding the Grand Song trophy, and the first thing they do is plug the song they released five days ago. That’s how hungry this team still is, and I love it.

“SHOCK,” released November 2, 2026: 55.5 million views in its first five days (as of Nov. 7, 2026). Official KGMA award clips weren’t up on ENA’s or Ilgan Sports’ channels at the time of writing.

What happened at Gocheok

  • Four trophies. Grand Song, Best Artist, Best Hip Hop (announced before the show) and Trend of the Year (Group) (Ilgan Sports, Nov. 7, 2026).
  • What Grand Song means. KGMA gives it to the artist whose music earned the highest marks that year (Edaily). Ilgan Sports, which founded the awards in 2024, hosts the show. Chart data comes from Hanteo, Genie, FLO and Bugs, and fans vote on the Kugoong app. ENA aired it live in Korea, with Hulu Japan and TikTok Live carrying it abroad (Edaily).
  • Who else won. Young K went home with five trophies, the most of the night. RESCENE took four, and CRAVITY took three. Best Artist also went to P1Harmony, ALLDAY PROJECT, CLOSE YOUR EYES, tripleS, xikers, MEOVV, LUCY, BTS, CORTIS, Stray Kids and BLACKPINK (Edaily).
  • The same day. A few hours before the ceremony, TREASURE made their first music-show appearance with “SHOCK” on MBC’s Show! Music Core (SPOTV News, Nov. 7, 2026; MBC).

The year in numbers

When What The number
June 1, 2026 Fourth mini album NEW WAV, title track “IF I” Their YG hip-hop “second act” (JTBC, June 24, 2026; Tenasia, Nov. 2, 2026)
June 2026 “IF I” M/V 100 million YouTube views in 11 days, 22 hours and 49 minutes, their fastest ever and the fastest of any new K-pop video released in 2026 so far at the time (Sports Donga, June 15, 2026)
Nov. 2026 “IF I” M/V 126.3 million views; the dance performance video has 42.5 million (YouTube, as of Nov. 7, 2026)
Nov. 2, 2026 Digital single “SHOCK” No. 1 on iTunes in 10 regions right after release (News1; SPOTV News, Nov. 3, 2026)
Nov. 7, 2026 KGMA Four trophies, including the Grand Song

To put the “IF I” record in context, only four new K-pop videos released in 2026 had passed 100 million views by mid-June: two from BTS’s ARIRANG (“SWIM” and “2.0”), BABYMONSTER’s “CHOOM,” and “IF I.” The previous fastest of the year was “CHOOM,” at 14 days. TREASURE beat it by two days (Sports Donga, June 15, 2026).

The black-and-white video that hit 100 million in under 12 days.

The challenge everyone did: #IF_I_CHALLENGE

“IF I” didn’t stay on YouTube. Its point choreography, a groove the members ride with both arms, spread across short-form platforms under the hashtags #IFIHOLIC and #IF_I_CHALLENGE (Sports Donga, June 15, 2026). It’s an easy move to copy and a hard one to make look as relaxed as they do. The official dance performance video is the best way to learn it.

42.5 million views as of Nov. 7, 2026.

“SHOCK”: the hip-hop doubled down

“SHOCK” is an electronic hip-hop track with a fast beat and synths, sharp rap verses and a chorus built to repeat. Its lyrics borrow from 1TYM’s “Hot 뜨거,” a 2000s YG classic, and YG producers BIGTONE and P.K worked on it with the overseas writers from NEW WAV (Tenasia, Nov. 2, 2026). “We want to really show our momentum with ‘SHOCK,'” the members said. “Like the title, we want to give fans a good kind of shock. We prepared hard to repay the love we got during our last promotions and the fan concert tour. Let’s fill up the rest of 2026 together” (Tenasia, Nov. 2, 2026).

Their first music-show stage for “SHOCK,” broadcast the same day as KGMA.

Why they’re so cool

Because they found their sound and leaned all the way in. Sports Donga described “IF I” as YG’s “classic hip-hop” reinterpreted in the members’ own young, sharp colors. JTBC called NEW WAV the successful opening of the team’s second act (Sports Donga, June 15, 2026; JTBC, June 24, 2026). Then, instead of playing it safe, they came back five months later with something even harder.

And because of how they win. Their speech tonight was all thank-yous, a comeback plug and a promise: “We’ll work really hard and become cool artists” (Edaily, Nov. 7, 2026). Four trophies in, and they’re still talking like a team with something left to prove. I find that completely lovable.

What’s next

“SHOCK” promotions continue through November. TREASURE are also in the running at the 2026 MAMA Awards, where they moved into sixth place in the male Fans’ Choice vote as of Nov. 6. The ceremony is on November 20 and 21 at Kyocera Dome Osaka (see our K-pop News, Nov. 7).

Where to listen: NEW WAV and “SHOCK” are on Melon, Spotify and Apple Music, and the videos above are on the official TREASURE YouTube channel and MBCkpop (checked Nov. 7, 2026).

A record-breaking summer, a harder fall and a Grand Song in between. Congratulations, TREASURE. I’m already counting down to your next stage.
