Who runs this site
Seol Notes is run by an independent writer who publishes as SeolNotes, based in Seoul, Republic of Korea. Contact: hello@seolnotes.com.
Information collected
Analytics. This site uses Google Analytics, through the Google Site Kit plugin, to understand how visitors use the site: pages viewed, time on page, approximate location (country or city), device and browser type, and how you arrived. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect this information. It does not give me your name or email address.
Comments. If you leave a comment, the site stores the name, email address and website you enter, the comment itself, your IP address and your browser’s user agent, to help detect spam. Your email address is never shown publicly. Comments are held for moderation before they appear.
Email sign-ups. If you subscribe to updates, your email address is stored so I can send you new posts. Every email includes a link to unsubscribe.
Contact. If you email me, I keep the message and your address only as long as needed to reply.
Server logs. Like most websites, the hosting provider (Hostinger) automatically records basic technical data such as IP addresses and request times, for security and performance.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. This site uses cookies for analytics, to remember comment details if you choose, and, once advertising is enabled, for ads. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some features may not work without them.
Advertising
This site shows, or will show, ads served by Google AdSense.

How long data is kept
Comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely so follow-up comments can be approved automatically. Analytics data is kept according to Google Analytics’ retention settings. Subscriber emails are kept until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, the EU, the UK, California or Korea), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data held about you, or to object to its use. To make a request, email hello@seolnotes.com. I will respond within 30 days.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page will be updated.
