A confession from one very happy fan: hearing AND2BLE thank their fans with a trophy in hand two nights in a row made me smile like an idiot at my screen. RESCENE’s “With” is headed into a Disney movie, JENNIE climbed back to No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100, and BTS became the first K-pop act to go Platinum in Italy. Here are the stories K-pop fans were talking about on Nov. 4.

AND2BLE Win ‘The Show’ and ‘Show Champion’ Back to Back With ‘French Kissing’
AND2BLE (Zhang Hao, Yoo Seung-eon, Ricky, Kim Gyu-bin and Han Yu-jin) took No. 1 on MBC M and MBC every1’s “Show Champion” on Nov. 4 with “French Kissing,” the title track of their second mini album “Sequence 02: Attraction.” It came one day after their win on SBS M’s “The Show” on Nov. 3, so the comeback now has two music-show trophies in two days. “This is our first comeback, and we prepared really hard,” Han Yu-jin said on stage, and Zhang Hao added, “The awards we receive aren’t AND2BLE’s alone. AND2BLE and our fans completed them together.” The album already sold more than 800,000 copies in its first week, a new personal best, and the MV stood at 38,098,356 views when we checked. Two trophies in two days for a first comeback: their fans earned every one of these right alongside them.

RESCENE’s ‘With’ Will Play Over the End Credits of Disney’s ‘Hexed’ in Korea
Disney Korea revealed on Nov. 4 that RESCENE’s new title track “With” will be the end-credits song for the Korean release of Disney’s animated film “Hexed” (“헥스: 마녀왕국”), which opens in Korea on Nov. 25. It’s the first time a Korean girl group’s song has been used as the end-credits song of a Disney film, and it will play in both the subtitled and the dubbed versions. Disney’s “Guess Who?” teaser had fans guessing at a silhouette for days, and the reveal video shows the five members transformed into the film’s heroine. The same day, Hanteo Chart counted 131,893 copies of “PULSE” sold on release day alone, already more than the 104,406 first-week total of their previous album “lip bomb,” and “With” was still No. 1 on the Melon TOP100 at 10 a.m. Their first big week isn’t even over (the first-week tally runs through Nov. 9), and RESCENE are already somewhere they’ve never been.

On Billboard’s charts dated Nov. 7 (released Nov. 3 U.S. time), JENNIE’s “Dracula” with Tame Impala rose three spots to No. 5 on the Hot 100, matching the song’s highest rank. Elsewhere on the album chart, the “KPop Demon Hunters” soundtrack was No. 32, BTS’s “ARIRANG” spent its 32nd straight week at No. 57, CORTIS’s “GREENGREEN” re-entered at No. 90 for 19 weeks in total, and Stray Kids’ “This & That” was No. 116, while KATSEYE’s “Animal” sat at No. 27 on the Hot 100. Two BLACKPINK members in the U.S. top tier in the same week: BLINKs, that’s a good chart day.

BTS Become the First K-pop Act to Go Platinum in Italy With ‘ARIRANG’
Big Hit Music said on Nov. 4 that Italy’s music industry association FIMI certified BTS’s fifth full-length album “ARIRANG” Platinum on Nov. 2 (local time), for 50,000 units combining physical sales, downloads and streams. It’s the first FIMI Platinum for any K-pop act, and it came about six months after the album went Gold there in April. Five earlier BTS albums (“LOVE YOURSELF 結 ‘Answer’,” “MAP OF THE SOUL : PERSONA,” “MAP OF THE SOUL : 7,” “BE” and “Proof”) had all stopped at Gold in Italy. “ARIRANG” also stayed on the Billboard 200 for a 32nd straight week, and the Southeast Asia leg of the tour starts in Kaohsiung on Nov. 19. A market that used to be the hard one for BTS just said yes, and Italian ARMY made it happen.
